My Liver Cleanse Journey : Days 6-14
Well, I made it! I never thought I wouldn’t to be honest. Once I moved out of the detox phase, which I wrote about here, the headaches dissipated and I just started feeling better and better. I kept my food simple and mostly ate the same things every day. This allowed me to eat simply, paying close attention to when I was hungry and only then did I eat. This was a departure from my usual routine of three meals with two small snacks, a nutrition plan I’ve been following for years. As the days moved on, I was eating less and feeling more nourished. This was an incredible feeling! I’ve tried many programs, tips and tricks over the years to master my relationship with food but this was the first time I was eating instinctively and feeling satisfied. For this reason alone I would recommend the cleanse. In fact if you’ve come in contact with me during this process then you know I can’t stop raving about it. The Chandanni Liver Cleanse felt like a puzzle to me and as the days went on the pieces fell into place.
By taking away the complexity and stress that can sometimes come with making the day to day choices of what to eat and when, I created space. If you’ve never struggled with your nutritional habits, I don’t love the word diet, this might be harder to understand, but for those of you that have, you know exactly what I’m talking about. In this new space I was able to really observe my relationship with food, drinks(coffee & alcohol), self and others. As I approached the last handful of days of the cleanse my world came into focus, I felt clear and awake. The liver holds feelings of anger, resentment, frustration, irritability and bitterness. Imagine detoxing those feelings from your body and mind, being left with a refreshed and reset perspective. For me these mind/body connections were the most important outcomes of the cleanse. In this new space I could see situations and relationships in a new way, which changed my responses and approach. Plus, it felt great to have the bloating and inflammation I normally struggle with fall away and see my skin glowing. *bonus*
It is just the beginning of this journey for me. I knew within the first few days that this wouldn’t be the last time I completed this cleanse. I love the idea of doing this cleanse as the seasons change, as we are shedding the old and renewing right along with nature. I’ll be completing the cleanse again and next time I want you to join me!
