Tea Time

Prior to my Chandanni Liver Cleanse I was not much of a tea drinker. I always wanted to be a tea drinker, there is something just so inviting and relaxing about it, but alas it never really took for me and I’d only resort to tea when I was sick and coffee just didn’t sound good. This was a rare occurrence! Well, it turns out when you quit coffee and can only have caffeine free herbal tea you come to really enjoy it, at least that was my experience. In fact in the three weeks since I completed my cleanse I’ve only had three cups of coffee. I’m enjoying various teas so much that I see no reason to go back to the coffee as a daily necessity.

I find it likely that because I was a coffee drinker for decades, yes plural, I have found that I like stronger tasting teas, bolder flavor profiles. It has been fun trying lots of different kinds of teas and experimenting with new drinks like my current favorite, a London Fog.

I still love the ritual of a warm beverage to sip in the morning, but now I reach for tea. Also, I used to need to have my coffee the minute my eyes opened and by breaking that habit I can wait till later in the morning to have my tea which gives me an opportunity to make sure I’m hydrating with water first thing in the morning. My favorite place to indulge in this new favorite drink is Valentine Coffee in Oak Creek, they make the most delicious London Fog. They make their own vanilla bean syrup in house and it’s perfection. I’ve been experimenting with making my own at home, too. They aren’t the same, but they are pretty good! Scroll down to see what I use and how I DIY this yummy drink at home.
